The account given here tracks the actual construction of the site. It is written to reflect the site as it stands, not as an aspiration.

Where a page links elsewhere, the destination is beyond this site's control. What happens after that point is between the reader and whoever operates that site.

Hosting and Server Requests

Pages are served by a commercial hosting provider. Like any web host it processes the technical request data needed to deliver a page, including the requesting address, and retains it briefly for security and operational purposes. That processing sits with the host and is common to essentially all web hosting.
